The College Scholarship Initiative
Young women in India depend on higher education to access the work place. Those graduating from secondary school have increasingly expressed the desire to pursue their studies at the tertiary level in order to be able to be independent. You can help them to defray the costs of hostel accommodation in Jodhpur, to afford the required books and stationary, and to pay fees at their selected training program, college or university. Since 2014, twenty-three young women sponsored by the Veera Project successfully completed a degree in education, nursing, public health and business. In 2017, eight of them graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. In 2019, five girls graduated from nursing school and three of them will extend their studies in order to get a Bachelor of Science. This year (2019-2020), twenty-three girls will follow university programs sponsored by the Veera Project.
